How compensations are made

Zinapah provides compensation

  • to each military serviceman who has been declared as a person with disability of 1st or 2nd category as a result of suffering an injury after January 1 of 2017
  • to family members of each serviceman deceased or declared as missing (hereinafter referred to as ‘‘stakeholders’’). The list of family members entitled to compensation is provided by Article 2 of the law. 

In order to receive compensation, each serviceman with disability or stakeholder shall present the following documents to the state body where the serviceman has undergone military service:

In case of disability:

  • application
  • reference on declaring the Serviceman as a person with disability given by the authorized state body carrying out medico-social examination and the decision of  Central Medical Military Committee of the corresponding state body on the casual connection between the injury and the mutilation
  • passport or social security card
  • personal public service number or reference on the absence of personal public service number
  • reference on the residency address provided by the corresponding department of the State Register of Population

In case of a deceased or missing serviceman

  • Application
  • reference given within 5 years since the termination of military activities by the authorized state body performing medico-social examination on the casualty of the death confirming that the death of the serviceman was a result of being injured or mutilated during military activities or a court decision on declaring the serviceman as missing
  • passports or social security cards of stakeholders
  • personal public service number or reference on the absence of personal public service number of stakeholders
  • reference on the residency address of the stakeholders provided by the corresponding department of the State Register of Population
  • If the stakeholder is the spouse of the serviceman, the marriage certificate
  • If the stakeholder is the child of the serviceman, the child’s birth certificate
  • If the stakeholder is the minor sister/brother (under 18) of the serviceman, the sister’s/brother’s birth certificate
  • If the stakeholder is the serviceman’s sister/brother with incapacity, the court decision on declaring the incapacity
  • If the stakeholder is the serviceman’s sister/brother, who is a student under 23 years old enrolled in a daytime educational program, the reference on studies given by the corresponding educational institution
  • If the stakeholder is the serviceman’s disabled sister or brother, the reference on the disability given by the authorized state body performing medico-social examinations
  • In case of being entitled to receiving additional amounts, the documents required for receiving the additional amounts.

* 10 million of the abovementioned amount is an upfront lump sum payment, whereas the rest of the amount is paid in equal monthly disbursements throughout 20 years.

** 5 million of the abovementioned amount is an upfront lump sum payment, whereas the rest of the amount is paid in equal monthly disbursements throughout 20 years.

Servicemen or their family members are entitled to an additional monthly payment of 100,000 AMD, in case at the time of the compensation event the serviceman has:

  • Three or more children under the age of 18, or
  • Children who are full time students under the age of 23,
  • Children with disabilities under the age of 18 or over the age of 18, if the disability has been recognized before the age of 18.

Persons entitled to receiving an additional monthly payment of 100,000 AMD, shall in addition to the compensation claim present the following documents:

  • Claim for additional monthly compensation,
  • Birth certificates of children under the age of 18 and adult children (over age of 18),
  • Reference on the enrollment in educational institutions and term of education of adult children given by relevant educational institution or reference on the disability of adult children given by relevant state authority in charge of medical and social expertise,
  • Reference on the conception day and the pregnancy term of the third child given by the medical institution surveilling the mother’s pregnancy. Moreover, the reference mentioned in this point is presented only in cases of death or disappearance of a serviceman,
  • Marriage certificate of the serviceman and the mother of the child, as well as a reference that the marriage has not been dissolved by divorce given by the state civil acts registry. Moreover, the reference mentioned in this point is presented only in cases of death or disappearance of a serviceman,
  • Guardianship documents and the passport of the guardian, in case guardianship is instated upon children under or over the age of 18, as well as the passports of the servicemen or his spouse or his representative under law or power of attorney,
  • Court orders that have entered into force prescribed by Article 4 point 3 of the Law,
  • Consent of adult children (over the age of 18) on allowing the additional monthly compensation to be transferred to the bank account of one of the persons mentioned in this section or their instruction to divide the additional monthly compensation between all stakeholders and pay each one separately. Each stakeholder marks his choice in form 1 of the present regulation.
